Things to consider:
. Bring enough water eventhough there is a watersource on the grotto area (it dries up during summer)
. Last chance to buy supplies is in (and around) Fiesta Mall
. There are kubos and station markers along the trail (although most of them have probably been taken down by the rain by now), if you still think you are lost, feel free to ask for directions from the friendly locals
. The locals sell fresh buko juice (coconut) on some kubos for P5-P10
. This mountain has a really big campsite, it can likely fit more than a hundred tents
. You may wash up at the jumpoff kubo for P10
Options:
. You may take your lunch along the trail since the campsite doesn’t have a a lot of shady trees
. You may park your car at Fiesta mall or at the wash up kubo (for a fee) if you decide to bring one
. There's Mt. Malarayat hotel nearby in case you need a cozy place to stay overnight
. You may play around with the IT, passing around the grotto first, or just going back the same trail; The same goes if you want to stay overnight; Add about 30 minutes trekking time up and down the mountain since you'll be bringing a heavier backpack
Budget: around P400 per pax.
Budget estimate for 6 people:
720 bus to Batangas
720 bus back to Manila
60 barangay fees
180 trike fees (2 trikes per leg)
